Which charging cable do I need?
Step 1Type 1 or Type 2?Almost all European EVs have Type 2. Type 1 is mainly found on older and Asian models.
Step 21 phase or 3 phases?Your car and your charging point decide how many phases you use, and so how fast you charge: up to 7.4 kW on 1 phase, up to 22 kW on 3 phases.
Step 3Which length?Measure the distance from the charging point to the charging flap and add one metre. Too long is awkward, too short won't reach.

Voor wie is een laadpaal met socket de juiste keuze?

Een laadpaal met socket heeft geen vaste kabel: je steekt je eigen laadkabel erin. Handig als flexibiliteit belangrijker is dan dagelijks gemak. Dezelfde paal werkt voor verschillende auto's en voor bezoekers met hun eigen kabel, en een kabel die je al hebt blijf je gewoon gebruiken. Vooral geschikt voor:

  • Huishoudens met meerdere elektrische auto's met verschillende stekkers.
  • Locaties waar regelmatig gasten laden, zoals bedrijventerreinen of verhuur.
  • Wie toekomstbestendig wil investeren, ook bij een andere auto later.

Questions about charging cables
Socket or tethered cable?

With a socket you plug in your own charging cable. That's handy if different cars charge there, including Type 1, and the station looks tidy when nobody is charging. With a tethered cable, the cable is always ready: park, grab the plug, charge. If you charge one car in the same spot every day, a tethered cable is the easiest.
Which charging cable do I need for a station with a socket?

A cable with a Type 2 plug on the charging station side. On the car side it depends on your car: Type 2 for most new cars, Type 1 for older ones. The number plate check shows which charging cable fits your car.
