The standard in Europe

Portable charger with a Type 2 plug

Most electric cars and plug-in hybrids in Europe have a Type 2 inlet. With a Type 2 portable charger you charge from a regular socket (Schuko) or, with a three-phase charger, from a CEE outlet.

From a regular socket you usually charge at 2.3 kW. On three-phase power you charge at up to 11 or 22 kW, if your car can take it. The number plate check shows which charger fits.
