- The charging station itself.
- The installation: a dedicated circuit, the cable to the charging station and mounting it.
- Possibly changes to your fuse box, a mounting post or an energy meter for load balancing.
- The charging itself: the electricity you use.

How much does the charging station itself cost?
With us, a home charging station costs about €230 to €860 (October 2026, including VAT). The price depends on:
- Socket or tethered cable. A charging station with a socket has no cable, but then you need a separate charging cable.
- Power. A charging station up to 22 kW often costs a little more than one up to 11 kW; you can usually set it lower.
- Extras, such as an app, a charge card (RFID), load balancing or a built-in MID meter to claim business charging costs.

How much does installation cost?
Installation is often the biggest part of the cost. The price depends on:
- the distance between your fuse box and the charging station, and so the cable length,
- whether the charging station goes on a wall or a mounting post, and whether digging is needed,
- whether your fuse box needs an extra circuit or different protection; read Your charging station and fuse box.
Always ask for a price for your situation first. A good electrician looks at your fuse box and the route to the charging spot first.
How much does charging cost?
At home you pay your own electricity rate. Work it out like this: the kWh you charge, times your price per kWh. Charging at home is usually much cheaper than at a public charging station or rapid charger.
Charging station or portable charger?
If you don't drive much or have a plug-in hybrid, a portable charger is often enough and cheaper: no installation, you plug it into a wall socket. Read Portable charger or charging station: which suits you?
