Which charging cable do I need?

Step 1Type 1 or Type 2?Almost all European EVs have Type 2. Type 1 is mainly found on older and Asian models.
Step 21 phase or 3 phases?Your car and your charging point decide how many phases you use, and so how fast you charge: up to 7.4 kW on 1 phase, up to 22 kW on 3 phases.
Step 3Which length?Measure the distance from the charging point to the charging flap and add one metre. Too long is awkward, too short won't reach.

Gekrulde laadkabel (spiraalkabel)

Questions about charging cables

How far does a coiled charging cable reach?

The coil stretches to about 4 metres. If your car is further from the charging station, choose a straight charging cable.

Straight or coiled: what's the difference?

A straight cable comes in more lengths, up to 20 metres. A coiled cable retracts after charging and stays off the ground, but only reaches about 4 metres when stretched. If you park close to the charging station, coiled is handy. Otherwise, choose straight.

Does a coiled cable charge just as fast?

Yes. Charging speed depends on the cable (16A or 32A, single or three-phase) and on your car, not on its shape.
