Charging stations for home and business use

A charging station - also called a wallbox or home charger - is the best way to charge your electric car safely and efficiently. Unlike a regular power outlet, a charging station is designed specifically for EVs and offers more power, better safety and smart features.

Whether you charge at home, at your business location or in a shared parking space, a charging station puts a reliable charging solution at your fingertips.

Why choose a charging station?

  • Faster charging: up to 8 times faster than via a regular wall socket
  • Safe: built-in protection against overcharging and short circuits
  • Smart: many models can be controlled via an app and provide insight into your consumption
  • Suitable for all EVs and PHEVs (Type 1 or Type 2)
  • For 1-phase and 3-phase connections (3.7 to 22 kW)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a charging station and a mobile charger?

A Charging station is a fixed charging solution that you mount on a wall or on a pole. It offers more power, is safer and often smartly controlled via an app. A mobile charger is portable and intended as a temporary solution, such as on vacation or as a backup.

What charging power do I need?

That depends on your electric car and your home power connection:

  • 3.7 or 7.4kW: suitable for a 1-phase connection
  • 11 to 22kW: requires a 3-phase connection. Note: your car determines the maximum charging capacity. A heavier Charging station than needed has no advantage.

Is a charging station with a fixed cable better than one with a socket?

A fixed cable is user-friendly - you only need to plug in the connector. A model with a socket is more flexible if you want to charge multiple cars or combine Type 1 and Type 2 vehicles.

Do I need an electrician for installation?

Yes, we always recommend installation by a licensed electrician. This will ensure that the Charging station is properly connected, the distribution board is correctly adjusted and that you can charge safely.

Are these charging stations suitable for all electric cars?

Yes, as long as you choose the right type. Make sure your car has a Type 1 or Type 2 connection has. Most modern cars in Europe use Type 2.

Can I control my Charging station smartly via an app?

Many Charging stations can be controlled via an app (via WiFi or Bluetooth). This allows you to schedule charging, monitor your usage or charge at the cheapest time with dynamic energy rates.

Can I take my charging station with me when I move?

Yes, you can. Most Charging stations are dismountable and can be reinstalled in another location. Always have this done by a professional for a safe reinstallation.
