What are the best-selling EVs of 2021 so far? The sales figures of September 2021 have just arrived. We still have 1 quarter to go until we can close the year again. There will probably still be some cars sold in the last quarter, because the addition to the cars will change again in the next fiscal year.

The best-selling EVs of 2021 so far have been announced. In total, only 235,977 cars have been sold through September 2021 . That includes petrol and diesel cars. A decrease of 4.9 percent compared to the same period in 2020 (248,206). According to BOVAG and RAI Association the declining sales are due to the industry's ongoing chip shortages. Waiting times are increasing, as a result of which cars are not delivered.

Of all new cars in 2021, 33.5 percent will have one hybrid powertrain. A big difference with last year, when this number was 17 percent. The market share for fully electric cars is 12.7 percent . An increase of one percent compared to the first 9 months of 2020. A total of 29,861 electric cars were registered this year compared to 28,785 up to and including September last year. But which car scores the best so far?
