Description

Plug & Charge with fixed charge cable

Because the cable is always attached to the charging station, you no longer have to experience the inconvenience of rolling the charging cable in and out every charging session. Upon arrival, simply park your vehicle and plug the fixed cable directly into your car to start the charging process. Since the cable is also permanently attached to the charging station, it is impossible to lose it!

Notice: It sometimes happens that the Webasto Next does not work well with the Renault Zoë (especially model R110) and the Volvo V60 D6 plug-in Hybrid. Do you own either of these two cars? Then we recommend choosing another charging station, such as the Wallbox Pulsar Plus.

Charge your electric car at up to 11 or 22 kW

The Webasto Next is a very good option if you are looking for a modern charging station to charge your type 2 electric car on a daily basis. Depending on your network connection and onboard charger, it is even possible to charge at 22 kW. That's the fastest charging option at home!

Notice: To use 3 phase 22kW, you must meet these two conditions:

  1. The meter box must be reinforced by your grid operator to support 22kW.

  2. The EV's onboard charger must be able to receive the desired charging power.

Both 1-phase and 3-phase charging with the Webasto Next

Although the Webasto Next is made for 3 phase charging, it is certainly also possible to charge 1 phase. Whether you want to charge your type 2 electric car with 1-phase or 3-phase, with the Webasto Pure II both are possible and you are guaranteed to be in the right place. Some households in Belgium have a 2-phase or 3-phase connection without a neutral wire. Is this the case with you, you can still use this Webasto charging station, only the charging station will only be able to charge on 1-phase.

Webasto ChargeConnect App

If you have a Webasto Next, it is possible to track and view various dates through the Webasto ChargeConnect app or in the online web portal. For example, you can see the current status of your charging station, charging history and energy consumption in an instant. This data from your charging station is all available live, wherever you are via the app.

Instant visibility of current charging status

On the front of the Webasto Next is a built-in LED lamp. The colors of this lamp indicate charging status and any error messages via the color of the light. The color green indicates that it is ready to use, the color blue indicates that it is currently charging and the color red indicates that there is an error message. These different charging statuses can also be seen through the app, where you will also get further explanation about any error.

Scheduling charging sessions

Do you want to save energy costs while charging? Then it is imperative that you have the option to schedule charging sessions. Not every charging station has this option, but fortunately the Webasto Next does. With this option, you can easily choose what times you want to charge, allowing you to take maximum advantage of cheaper energy during off-peak hours and thus save on energy costs.

User-selectable charging capacity

Depending on the onboard charger and power connection, it is possible to use the Webasto Next both charging station can charge with 1 or 3 phase with up to 11 kW of charging power. You control the total charging capacity yourself with a Webasto Next. This is because it is adjustable on the device. Below is a clear table showing which charging speeds you can set depending on how many phases your connection is.

Dynamic Load Balancing

With Dynamic Load Balancing, the Webasto Next peak load so your fuses will never blow. The charging station will never take in more power than is available to it. Dynamic Load Balancing is only possible in combination with an Eastron SDM630 smart meter. There are three ways to connect the charging station to this smart meter. In the downloads you will find a document where these ways are described. We recommend using your Webasto Next to connect to your smart meter via the router. Installing it yourself is possible, but if you are not knowledgeable about things in your meter box, it is better to have your charging station installed by a certified electrician.

Important information for setting the charging rate with the Webasto Next

If you want to adjust the payload power, you need to adjust the DIP switches in the Charging station. The DIP switches are set as follows. There are six DIP switches in total. The first three adjust the load power. The last three are for power networks. The last three should always be set to off, off and on, i.e. '0', '0' and '1'. Once these are set this way, you don't need to touch them. In fact, only the first three allow you to adjust the payload. Below is a diagram showing the combinations of the DIP switches and their corresponding ones.

'0' means the switch is off and '1' means the switch is on.

Installation and Warranty

Installing a charging station, such as the Webasto Next, is a difficult task that is even dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. For example, it is necessary to modify and sometimes even expand the distribution board (extra group + earth leakage circuit breaker), connect cabling to the charging station, put the charging station in the ground and then install it so it is ready for use.

A mistake is easily made if you have no knowledge of these things. Therefore, we always recommend having your charging station installed by a certified electrician to ensure that it is installed properly and safely. Request a custom quote without obligation from Charging Union, EV Plug Europe's partner for installing charging stations.
