Most mobile chargers work on a standard 230V outlet, as long as the installation is safe and provides sufficient power. For faster charging times, you can choose models with a 16A or 32A CEE (power current) connection.

What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 mobile chargers?

The difference is in the connection on the car side:

  • Type 1: 5 pins + locking cover (for older and Asian EVs).
  • Type 2: 7 pins, no flap (for European EVs and PHEVs)

What is the maximum charging capacity of a mobile charger?

That varies by model. Commonly used capacities are 3.7kW (1-phase, 16A), 7.4kW (1-phase, 32A), and or 11kW (3-phase) for a power connection. Keep in mind that your car and the connection must also support this power rating.

Can I use a mobile charger in the rain?
